eVOLUTION monitors in real time how much water has passed through the bed. As soon as the ion exchange capacity begins to run out, the unit starts regeneration on its own — at any time of day or night, with no input from you.
For a standard family of four in a house on mains water (hardness 15–25 °dH) the optimal choice is the eVOLUTION 300 Boost. Its ion exchange capacity of 59 °dH×m³ covers the water use of 4–5 people with room to spare. Boost technology ensures a continuous supply of soft water even during regeneration.
A standard softener stops delivering soft water while it regenerates (usually at night). Boost (in the 300, 400 and 500 models) regenerates the media in parallel — one part of the bed regenerates while the other keeps working. The house gets soft water without a break, around the clock.
No. Wi-Fi is an extra feature — the unit works entirely on its own without a network connection. The HydrolinkHome app adds convenience (alerts, statistics, remote management), but it is not required for the unit to work properly.
For a typical four-person household (hardness 20 °dH, use of 200 l per person per day) the 300 Boost model uses about 10–15 kg of salt a month, which costs PLN 15–25. The annual running cost is around PLN 200. Traditional softeners in the same conditions use 3–4× more salt.
A standard installation by a MICHLOR technician takes 2–4 hours. It needs access to the main cold water pipe, a drain connection (for regeneration) and a 230V socket. Yes, but well water has to be tested first. Where iron (>0.3 mg/l), manganese or hydrogen sulphide levels are elevated, pre-filters are required. MICHLOR offers free well water testing before choosing a unit.
