No — COMFORT+ is simply a different specialism. Both series use the same NSF-certified ion exchange resin. COMFORT+ has no Wi-Fi and no app, but the water softening is exactly as effective. It is a good choice when you want a lower budget, simple operation and long life without unnecessary electronics.
The EcoMulti is the multi-media version — the tank holds several layers of different filtration media (ion exchange resin plus others such as GAC or anthracite). It is used where water has specific problems: elevated iron, manganese, hydrogen sulphide or an unpleasant odour. We recommend choosing it after a free water test carried out by MICHLOR.
A float sensor is fitted inside the salt tank. When the salt level drops below the threshold, an LED on the unit's panel lights up red to signal that salt needs topping up. A simple, dependable system — it works for decades without a single failure.
Well water must be tested before you choose a model — hardness varies enormously (10–60 °dH). For a large house with a well the usual choice is the COMFORT+ 400 or 500. If your well water contains iron or manganese, consider the EcoMulti or pre-filtration. MICHLOR offers free well water testing.
No — the COMFORT+ series is built on a different electronic platform and does not allow for a Wi-Fi module. If you think you will want app control in the future, choose the eVOLUTION series now. Both are installed in the same way — swapping the unit later is possible if you change your mind, but it comes at a cost.
